Maritime Ministry Volunteers
The deck plate component of Maritime Ministry offers a hands-on global mission and outreach experience without leaving the United States of America. Volunteers attend orientation, on the job training and accompany professional and experienced ship visitors before they go out two by two to the great adventure of deck plate ministry.
Some basic requirements for volunteer ship visitors:
- A valid driver's license and the willingness to drive 8-passenger vans in congested urban and industrial areas.
- Above average physical fitness, e.g., able to climb thirty to forty steps at a time.
- Friendly, outgoing, hospitable, flexible. Responsible for themselves and interested in the general and spiritual welfare of others.
- Fluency in a foreign language and international travel experience are pluses but not essential.
Other Maritime Ministries opportunities include office support staff, transportation dispatcher, van driver, worship leader, Bible study leader, Bible correspondence course pen pal, volunteer coordinator, officer manager, publicity, writer, photographer, video recorder, events coordinator, etc.
Ministry sites are in every major port city in the U.S. and Canada.
